Augusta Quarry at Fort Dickerson Park

The Augusta Quarry at Fort Dickerson Park has transitioned from an unused and abandoned stone quarry into a public recreation site. The Aslan Foundation partnered with the City of Knoxville to redesign this site in three phases. Phase one created a temporary parking area to access the quarry lake in the summer of 2017. Phase two in 2018 included the construction of a gateway, roadway, and parking lot. Phase three, completed in 2025, included the construction of a boardwalk, kiosk, and restrooms.

The Augusta Quarry is part of Fort Dickerson Park. Fort Dickerson Park features multiple breathtaking views and overlooks, Civil War earthworks, replica cannons, and multi-use trails across eighty-five acres.
